Sr. Julia's letter to women interested in discerning their vocation.

Dear Ladies,

Blessings to you in this Easter season! We trust you enjoyed reading the packet of info we sent you after receiving your name from Vocation Placement Services. If you haven’t received the packet yet, it should be arriving soon.

We hope all is going well with your vocation discernment. It is appropriate that you should be receiving this invitation to a vocation retreat weekend to be held on the feast of St. John the Baptist, one of the first missionaries! St. John the Baptist, pray for us. Guide us and help us to hear clearly the call of your cousin, Jesus, and to respond wholeheartedly.

You are most cordially invited to our upcoming vocation discernment weekend, June 24-26th here at St. Agnes Convent in St. Paul, Minnesota, for single women 17 and older. The retreat begins at 6:30 PM with dinner on Friday and ends Sunday afternoon at 4 PM. There will be conferences by priests and time for prayer, reflection, and guidance on discerning a religious vocation.

We hope that you will “come and see” if God may be calling you to be a sister.

All who attend the retreat will have room and board at the convent, and also learn a little about the Catholic mission in Vladivostok, Russia, the first mission destination for Sisters in Jesus the Lord.

The cost is $60.00 for the weekend, which includes the retreat, plus room and board at the convent. If the cost is a consideration for you, though, please call us.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul airport (MSP), Lindbergh terminal, is only a twenty minute drive from the convent. If you’re flying in from out-of-town, we would be happy to pick you up on Friday and bring you back on Sunday.
