The LCI, or
Language and Catechetical Institute is a program offered in
Gaming, Austria. Well known by Franciscan University of
Steubenville students, (www.franciscan.edu)
this campus is a home. . . away from home for not only
Americans, but Eastern Europeans as well.
So far Fr. Myron and Fr. Daniel have had two students
participate in the program in Austria. This is a chance to learn
about the true teachings of the Catholic Church in an
awe-inspiring environment. The LCI provides students with a
spiritual banquet of catechetics, daily mass and prayer. They
are also immersed in English-speaking classes.

The LCI program is in need of funds to aid students, who
would like to attend but are unable to pay tuition. The cost of
one semester as an LCI student in Gaming is $4,000. To support a
student from Vladivostok you may send your donation to the Mary
Mother of God Mission Society.

Igor
Radzyuk |
Igor Radzyuk, a parishioner at Holy Trinity in Romanovka, was
a student at the LCI. A benefactor of the LCI paid for Igor's
tuition and room and board, and a mission benefactor covered his
air fare and personal expenses.
In February 2003, Fr. Daniel visited Igor.
Fr. Daniel was inspired and delighted by the Institute. Two more
students were sent to the LCI in the summer of 2003. Dima went
in 2004 and has been out host person and jaclkkof all trades to
the priests since his return. Irina has been there this past
school year 2005. This is a report from Jenny Healy from the
Gaming campus. Irina Kuzmichova
is our top student. She is very hard-working and intelligent,
and at the same time peaceful, friendly, and just delightful to
have here among our students. Thank you for sending her to us!
The theology
professor also told me that she surpassed all of the Franciscan
University students in the Scripture class. That is quite an
achievement for a non-native English speaker who hasn't formally
studied theology!
. If you would like to contribute to a fund to send a student
to the LCI, please contact the mission office.
